Biographies


Larry Franklin, Chairman of the Board and CEO
Franklin joined Harte-Hanks (NYSE) in 1971, and a year later was named treasurer and chief financial officer. In 1984, he was named chief operating officer; in 1991, he was named president and chief executive officer. In 1999, he was named chairman and chief executive officer. In 2001 he resigned his position as chief executive officer but resumed it in November 2008. He joined the Harte-Hanks board in 1974 and remains its chairman. He has served on numerous industry, civic and charitable boards. Franklin received his bachelor of arts degree from East Texas State University, and his master's degree in business administration from Texas Tech University.


Doug Shepard, Corporate Officer: Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Shepard joined Harte-Hanks in 2007 and serves as the company's top financial executive. Shepard most recently served as chief financial officer and treasurer of HVHC Inc., the vision holding company of health-care provider Highmark, and as executive vice president, chief financial officer, treasurer and secretary of Eye Care Centers of America, Inc., which is owned by HVHC. Shepard joined Eye Care Centers of America in 1995. Prior to his employment with Eye Care Centers of America, Shepard worked for a publicly traded restaurant company and for Deloitte & Touche, LLP.


Robert L. R. Munden, Corporate Officer: Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Munden joined Harte-Hanks in 2010 and serves as the company's general counsel and corporate secretary. Munden most recently served as vice president and corporate counsel at Safeguard Scientifics, Inc. (NYSE: SFE), a life sciences and technology holding company. Prior to that, Munden served as North America corporate counsel for Taylor Nelson Sofres, a market research company (now owned by WPP PLC). Previously, Munden served as general counsel of Naviant, Inc., an internet marketing and database services firm. Munden began his legal career as an associate with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, LLP in Austin, Texas, after having served as an armor and cavalry officer with the U.S. Army in the U.S. and Germany. Munden earned his B.S. from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, Austin, Texas.


Mike Paulsin, Corporate Officer: Senior Vice President and President, Shoppers
Paulsin began his career with Harte-Hanks in 1988 and has held various financial and business management positions, including his current leadership of the California PennySaverUSA.com Shoppers publications. He earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and a master's degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton.


Brian Dames, Corporate Officer: Vice President
Dames serves as a corporate officer, vice president for Harte-Hanks, Inc., achieving this position in 2011. He also holds the role of executive vice president, customer solutions, in Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing, a position to which he was named in 2012. He has responsibility for all aspects of the company's database and data services, as well as Aberdeen®, Trillium Software® and other software and technology market solutions businesses. Since joining Harte-Hanks in 2007, Dames has served in other leadership positions. Initially as managing director in charge of data services and data, where he oversaw all business operations and planning for the company's data hygiene and list brokering services. Then, as group managing director encompassing all database and data services. For more than a year, he also served as chief marketing officer, direct marketing. Prior to joining Harte-Hanks, Dames held marketing and senior management positions with Experian, Claritas, EthnicGrocer.com, IXI Corporation, and Sears, Roebuck & Co. His two decades of experience span retail, financial services, automotive, media, consumer products and telecommunications, among other markets. Brian holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago.


Jeannine Falcone, Corporate Officer: Vice President
Falcone is a corporate officer, vice president for Harte-Hanks, Inc., achieving this position in 2009. She also serves as executive vice president, customer strategy and engagement for Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing, to which she was named in 2012. As executive vice president, she leads all business development, marketing, and multichannel strategy and analytics teams, as well as The Agency Inside® Harte-Hanks, digital solutions and contact center teams. Prior to this position, she was managing director of The Agency Inside® Harte-Hanks, a full-service, multichannel relationship marketing agency specializing in direct and digital communications. Harte-Hanks consistently ranks among the largest customer relationship management and direct marketing agencies in the United States, as reported by Advertising Age. Falcone joined Harte-Hanks in 1994, originally as a key member of the client services team, and served in several senior account and leadership roles until being named managing director of the agency in 2007. Falcone has more than 20 years’ experience across multiple vertical industries, including automotive, consumer brands, financial services, pharmaceutical, health and wellness, and insurance. Falcone holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from West Chester University of Pennsylvania and a certificate of professional development from The Wharton School.


Andrew Harrison, Corporate Officer: Vice President
Harrison serves as corporate officer, vice president for Harte-Hanks, Inc. He is also executive vice president, people, at Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing, and was named to both roles in 2012. Harrison leads human resources operations, working closely with other Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing and corporate leaders on organizational transformation, change management and business performance improvement. He received his bachelor’s degree from Baylor University, and he has attained certifications both as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) during his career. Harrison joined Harte-Hanks as a human resources manager in 1995 and acquired additional responsibilities as the company expanded. In 2005, Harrison was given responsibility for HR operations across all of Direct Marketing. Under his leadership, the terrific team of HR professionals in Direct Marketing has implemented new technology, shared services, and improved HR delivery to the businesses. Prior to joining Harte-Hanks, Harrison began his career in organizational development at Central Freight Lines, eventually leading the OD team, and then progressing into a generalist HR position.


Federico Ortiz, Vice President, Tax
Ortiz is a 25-year employee with the company, serving in various capacities in the tax department. In 1999, he was named a corporate officer. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and also has career experience at Ernst & Young. Ortiz was graduated with honors from University of Texas with a bachelor's degree.


Tony Paul, Corporate Officer: Vice President
Paul is corporate officer, vice president for Harte-Hanks, Inc. as of 2012. He also serves as executive vice president, customer delivery, in Harte-Hanks Direct Marketing. He joined Harte-Hanks in 2010, and prior to his current position, to which he was named in 2012, was group managing director of the mail, logistics & fulfillment services and solutions. Paul has significant experience across several vertical industries, among them: retail, financial services, pharmaceutical, technology, consumer brands and automotive. He has 20 years of comprehensive experience in sales, business development, mergers & acquisitions, change management and strategic planning. Prior to joining Harte-Hanks, Paul held senior executive positions with RR Donnelly & Sons, Cenveo, and Bowne & Co., having full P&L responsibility for several global businesses ranging from $30 million to $1.3 billion in sales. Tony holds dual bachelor degrees from Miami University, Ohio.
